There is 23.6 million people in the United States that have diabetes.

My question is how many who reads my blog have type 2 diabetes?

I found out 4 years ago that I did, I think it sucks.I did loose alot of weight, that's good because I was very over weight. I went on a low carbohydrate, low sugar diet with snacks in between meals. I lost the weight slowly, now I'm one of those people who reads the labels for the carb., sugar and serving size. I still miss alot of my favorites things like cream horns, so when I see them in the store I'll go by and run my hands over them, and to think I could eat a package of 4 by myself.

I got Spring fever now so I'm not doing any knitting, got a few things on my needles. Have I lost my mojo?

Books and more books

I read alot of books and wasn't sure how many I read a year, so starting in Jan. I wrote down in my planner the books I read just to see how many. So far in Jan. I read 7 and Feb. 5. (total 12 books)

Ghost Writer by Rene Gutteridge and The Edge of Recall By Karen Kingburg were really good ones, hard to put down.

I get most of the books I read from the Library, I picked up 6 Friday and almost done with one.

My husband was looking out our kitchen window and there was a bird making a nest, he had me look and sure enough there she was. Now here in Southern Illinois it is 18, very cold. Don't they wait until it get warmer before they start nesting? I will get a closer look later and see what kind of bird it is and see if I can get a picture.

Still Knitting

Ya still knitting mostly dishcloths, this one pattern I found is so easy I have made two so far. Its called "Eloomanator's Diagonal Knit Dishcloth" you can get the pattern off of Ravelry.

I just love these patterns so far I have done, watering can, a swan,a frog, daffodils,little cabin, little red school house. The designer is Melissa (Oscarsdotter) found these also on Ravelry.

We got our first computer about 10 years ago, but it has only been a few years ago that I knew about all these sites and all these patterns. So its like going into a candy store with all the goodies.

I'm going to be a grandma again

I have been busy catching up on my knitting. I have so many patterns I wanted to knit, that now is a good time to do them. Also I found out a few weeks ago that my youngest son is going to be a DADDY for the first time. He is on cloud 9. They have been wanting a baby for a while. So now I am looking for patterns for the new baby, which is going to hard since they don't want to know the sex of the baby. I told them they could take me to the next Doctor's visit, cause I want to know. His wife didn't think that would be a good idea because my son would bug me to find out . my first thought was, boy! I could get a lot of my special coffee from him. He found this place that makes the sugar free kind and I like a good cup of coffee. Now the question is, can I keep my mouth shut?
